Our sponsors and partners

Varuna's contribution to Australian literature depends on funding from a variety of government and corporate sources. We are grateful for this support and thank the following organisations for their ongoing commitment to preserving the Dark legacy and realising the vision of a vibrant, living Australian literary culture.

Create NSW

Each year, Create NSW provides The Eleanor Dark Foundation with core funding which is used to cover some of the core costs of staffing and running the house and grounds. In 2019/2020, Create NSW also provided $100,000 in capital funding towards the constructions of a new wheelchair-accessible studio.

Creative Australia

Creative Australia generously provides The Eleanor Dark Foundation with multi-year funding, enabling us to offer residency fellowships and cover core staffing.
