Our sponsors and partners
Varuna's contribution to Australian literature depends on funding from a variety of government and corporate sources. We are grateful for this support and thank the following organisations for their ongoing commitment to preserving the Dark legacy and realising the vision of a vibrant, living Australian literary culture.
Each year, Create NSW provides The Eleanor Dark Foundation with core funding which is used to cover some of the core costs of staffing and running the house and grounds. In addition to this core funding, Create NSW also funds the LitLink Varuna Writing program, providing professional development opportunities for the writers of regional NSW.
The Australia Council for the Arts
The Australia Council for the Arts, under the Key Organisations funding category, provides The Eleanor Dark Foundation with core funding which is used to cover some of the core costs of staffing and running the house and grounds.
Arts NT is the proud sponsor of our Northern Territory fellowships, supporting four writers from the Northern Territory to come to Varuna for a supported residency and manuscript development program.
Copyright Agency Cultural Fund
Varuna acknowledges the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund for supporting our First Nations program, supporting 12 writers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent in a residency and manuscript development program.
Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust
Varuna is very grateful for the support of the Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust. The generous funding has enabled Varuna to establish and maintain our Young Writers’ Program, reaching out to talented writers in high schools across the Blue Mountains.
Building Better Regions Fund
Varuna acknowledges the generous support of the federally funded Building Better Regions Fund, which has provided funding for Varuna to host the inaugural Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival.
