Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival will invite the best writers and thinkers from around Australia to share ideas, spark conversations and inspire creativity. Held in partnership with Scribe Publications, these publishing intensive mentorships provide a unique opportunity for three writers developing exceptional new work. The 2019 program focuses on non-fiction, specifically popular science, micro-history and history from the perspective of diverse voices.

Commemorating the friendship between Australian writers Katharine Susannah Prichard and Eleanor Dark, this foundation offers a residency at Varuna and a residency at KSP (in Perth).

In this six-day residency, you will have the opportunity to extend your writing practise in a creative and supportive environment. There will be a series of three half-day masterclasses, as well as dedicated private writing time each day, and a one-on-one consultation with a Varuna consultant to talk about your current writing project.
