Varuna, the National Writers’ House respects your privacy. If you wish to apply for one of our residencies you will be asked to complete an online form. In doing so you will need to provide some contact details, but these details will be viewed by staff only.

If you are applying for a fellowship, your manuscript/submission will be provided to third parties (such as consultants and assessors) as part of the selection process. No personal information such as address or contact details is available to selectors (and for most programs, all identifying information is stripped from your application). Your name may be passed on to a publisher and/or published on our website if your manuscript is shortlisted for an award. No other personal information is passed on to any other third party.

We will not sell or rent any information you provide to others for marketing purposes and will only disclose your information with your permission.

If you pay for a ticket or residency at Varuna via credit card, this will be done online through PayPal or a ticket portal such as EventBrite or TryBooking. Varuna cannot view any of your PayPal account or credit card details, and your credit card information will not be stored by Varuna.
