The Varuna Quilt Project

Varuna houses 12 patchwork quilts which have been created especially for Varuna. Many of these beautiful handmade quilts are used in the residential rooms and all play an important part of Varuna’s history.

The project began in 1999 with a Board Member enlisting quilters from across Australia to contribute blocks to the project.

Currently the project is run by our valued volunteer Monica Flynn who, along with the local Quilts and Coffee Group, make quilts for fundraising and also lovingly carry out repairs.
